Decoder-only and encoder-decoder transformers, pretraining and fine-tuning techniques, agentic systems, and reading the foundational papers behind modern LLMs.
Vision Language Models
Multimodal encoders, contrastive learning, VQA, and grounding language in images and video.

Mechatronics Group
Hands-on robotics — controls, CAD, embedded, perception, and locomotion across nine active subgroups.

6-DoF input device design — magnetic sensing, mechanical compliance, and host-side driver work.
RC Car / Go-Kart
1/10-scale autonomous platform (F1Tenth) for fast perception-and-controls iteration, plus a full-size drive-by-wire kart for autonomous-driving experiments at higher speeds.
Drone
Quadrotor build-up, PX4/ArduPilot tuning, and indoor navigation experiments.
Self-balancing Hoverboard
Two-wheel inverted-pendulum platform — IMU sensor fusion, motor drivers, and balance controllers.
Robotic Arm 6DoF / CNC
Six-degree-of-freedom manipulator — kinematics, motion planning, and gripper design — alongside CNC machining for tool-path generation and precision part fabrication.
Antenna Arrays for Obstacle Detection + Localization
RF beamforming and array signal processing for short-range obstacle sensing, combined with indoor positioning using UWB anchor grids — sensor fusion, calibration, and live tracking.
